Governance of Lord of Life

Lord of Life's major decisions are made by the Voter's Assembly which consists of all confirmed members who are 16 years of age or older. Our constitution establishes a Voter's Meeting in May for the election of the Administrative Council and another Voter's Meeting in December to adopt the budget for the following year.

The Administrative Council, the Boards, and the committees of Lord of Life generally meet on a monthly basis to manage the other operational decisions and carry out their respective responsibilities.

Administrative Council - is entrusted and empowered to administer all spiritual and material affairs of Lord of Life, and it is accountable to the congregation.  Current members of the Administrative Council are:

Board of Family Ministry - provides family fellowship opportunities for supporting and equipping all types of families in all stages of life with the hope, strength and growth in a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.  Current members of the Board of Family Ministry are:

Board of Outreach - is responsible for reaching the unchurched in the local area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ; for teaching the members of Lord of Life to be effective witnesses, and encouraging all members to participate in mission opportunities locally and worldwide.  The Board of Outreach fosters good will and encourages new members and visitors to create a sense of united family in our congregation.  Additionally, it oversees the Greeters Ministry and coordinates events, both in our congregation and in the community such as Congregational dinners, workshops, VBS, Annual Freedom Sunday picnic, and it sponsors the Angel Tree program.  We are proud to have an active ESL-English as a Second Language program in progress.  Current members of the Board of Outreach are:

Board of Adult Education - is responsible in the areas of teaching, feeding and nurturing adults in their spiritual growth by planning and administering the educational program for adults at Lord of Life.  Current members of the Board of Adult Education are:

Board of Youth Ministry - is responsible for planning and organizing youth events that encourage Christian fellowship and service to help youth grow in their faith. The Youth Ministry Board is a team of adults who contribute to the outreach of young people according to their gifts - some in administration and leadership, some in resource or prayer support. The Board oversees the operation and maintenance of the Youth Groups.  Current members of the Board of Youth Ministry are:

Board of Children's Ministry - is responsible for assisting parents to help their children learn more about Jesus and God's plan for their lives through the variety of programs including Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Kids in Christ, Cradle Roll and others. Bible-based, relevant teaching is provided in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.  Current members of the Board of Children's Ministry are:

Board of Stewardship Life - is responsible for teaching and encouraging members in the use of their spiritual and temporal gifts through the congregation, Texas District, and Synod to the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom.  The stewardship ministry gives special emphasis to practical Biblical principles for everyday living, and joy of seeking God's will in all areas of life. In addition to sponsoring classes and contests to promote spiritual growth, the Board directs our annual re-dedication time. Current members of the Board of Stewardship Life are:

Board of Properties - is responsible for God-pleasing supervision of all maintenance and improvement activities for LOL's buildings and grounds.  This includes all cleaning requirements, lawn and landscape care, plumbing and electrical maintenance, HVAC service, management of insurance coverage, maintenance personnel supervision, procurement of janitorial supplies, management of security alarms, and special projects as requested by the various ministries of LOL.  All members of LOL are welcome to offer suggestions and comments that will improve the BOP ministry and they are encouraged to participate in special work days that are scheduled when needed.  Current members of the Board of Properties are:
