Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is Lord of Life's confidential, one-to-one Christian caregiving ministry to extend the care that pastors continue to provide.  Stephen Ministers are lay people who receive 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care so that they are equipped to reach out with God's love to people who are hurting - both congregation members and nonmembers alike.  Because Stephen Ministry is confidential, the identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remain private.

God works through Stephen Ministers to show His mercy, care, and compassion while planting a seed of hope and healing in a person whose life seems barren and forlorn because of some crisis or tragedy.  Stephen Ministers listen, explore feelings, pray, share Christ's love, maintain confidentiality, and attend to the caregiving process while leaving the results to God. 

Stephen Ministers care for those who are grieving, in a crisis, in need of long-term care, dying, hospitalized, divorcing, experiencing losses as they age, lonely or discouraged, in a spiritual crisis, relocating, recovering from an accident or disaster, going through a family crisis, or are in the midst another type of difficulty.
