Lord of Life Lutheran Church
Adult Choir
The adult choir of Lord of Life
Lutheran Church, Plano, TX
seeks to glorify God through
music and to lead the
assembled congregation in
the liturgy and hymnody of
the Church. The adult choir
enhances both worship
services at least twice a
month, in addition to
special festival occasions
throughout the year, always
maintaining a God-centered
focus in the sung literature
and in actual performance.
The
choir sings anthems related
to the theme of the day,
often leads the congregation
in festive hymn settings
utilizing brass, organ and
timpani, and always supports
congregational singing.
Choir rehearsals provide a
midweek fellowship
opportunity, in addition to
the musical benefits
received from regular
practice. The choir
rehearses most Wednesday
evenings from 7:00 to 8:30
pm (with special rehearsal
and service schedules during
Christmas and Easter). Choir members work hard not
in order to perform or to
entertain, but that as a
group they might lead the
congregational in meaningful
worship. Amongst the members
are one or two high school
choral scholars who are
accepted through audition
and are offered a small
stipend in order to assist
their sections and to give
them the valuable experience
of singing quality church
music. The choir recently
recorded a CD entitled Oh,
That I Had A Thousand
Voices, a compilation of
hymns and anthems recorded
at major hymn festivals
during the year.
Anyone who has an interest
in singing is welcome
to join the choir, and
auditions are not necessary,
although a commitment to
weekly rehearsals and
regular Sunday attendance
is! For more information,
contact Benjamin Kolodziej,
Director of Music or
Victoria Frinsko, Assistant
Director of Music.
